What is Thai massage?

Thai massage is a form of bodywork performed on a mat on the ground. Unlike classic western massage, the Thai massage client remains fully clothed. Thai massage includes a combination of compressions, kneading, and assisted stretches to bring the client through a wholistic manual therapy treatment that regulates the nervous system as well as heals musculoskeletal and energetic ailments. Thai massage is an integral part of Thai medicine, which developed over many centuries in Thailand with the influences of the medicine practices of neighboring countries such as India and China (Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, etc). Thai massage has roots in Buddhism as Thailand is a Buddhist country. It can be as spiritually profound or as tactical and practical as you desire.

What should I wear?

For Thai massage — Please wear stretchy or loose fitting clothing that is comfortable, and you are able to stretch in. In Thai massage you will be assisted through a myriad of dynamic stretches and movements on a mat on the ground. It’s important that you are fully clothed and fully comfortable!

For Deep Tissue — This treatment is done on a classic massage table. You will be fully covered with sheets, but please wear full coverage underwear as my massages are still very dynamic and include some Thai inspired moves and stretches.

Do you offer in home treatments?

At this time I only offer in-home treatments for those is special circumstances. Special circumstances would include the elderly, those in palliative care, women in prenatal or postpartum windows, and those with disabilities which inhibit them from coming to an office.

How do you accept payment?

Cash, check, or Venmo are my preferred forms of payment. Please note that I view this my work as manual therapy and medicine, not as a spa treatment, therefore I do not accept tips on top of what I recognize as already high prices!

I do not take insurance at this time.

What if your prices aren’t accessible to me?

It is my intention to make this healing medicine be available to all who need it. Please reach out to me personally and I will be happy to find a way to accommodate you. This offer is for those who truly cannot afford personal care expenses.
